Grave under the Horizon

This picture was taken by my friend You-Han near our hostel. If you look closely there is a muslim grave. People thinks that living near a grave is inauspicious, what do you think?
But for us it's no big deal....

INDONESIA - The LAND of DEVASTATION

Is the world population too BIG, that god has no choice but to create an earthquake for these people?
It seems that the land of Indonesia is so prone to disaster. Just 18 months after the TSUNAMI which hurt them the MOST, now they face another devastation- a 6.3 richter scale earthquake. Until now,4600 people were killed while 20000 injured and still counting. Some were weeping and some are relief. I'm staying in Malaysia, just beside Indonesia, but we are VERY LUCKY, because earthquake doesn't strikes here. So I'm very relief and thankful.
By the way, more quakes happened around the world!!! It CAN'T be STOP. Philippines, Tonga, and Papua New Guinea also suffered from quakes........
Let's pray....

MyTeam Vs Malaysia National Football Team

I DON'T think this ever happen in anywhere else.
Let me explain this, MyTeam is a team formed by the best hidden football talents in Malaysia. While the Malaysia National Football team, is a national football team.
MyTeam is also a reality show, where it gives amateur footballers a chance to show their skills through a series of grueling training and selection process, which will separate the best from the pretenders. It started when the 2 executive producers trying to help the local football scene get out of its current rut and return to it’s glory days.
And after just a few months of comprehensive training, MyTeam are pitted against the national football team here tonight. Football Association of Malaysia(FAM) accepted this challenge.
You see, Malaysia once was a football powerhouse in Asia, qualified for the 72 Munich and 80 Moscow Olympic before. Since they change from amatuer to semi-proffesional in 1989, the standard is going backwards.....and now we are standing nowhere.
I saw on TV the FAM labelled MyTeam as a "INSTANT NOODLES" team, while calling Malaysian to support the national team wearing yellow instead of wearing blue to support the MyTeam.
anyone know who is Shebby Singh? Yes, he is the head coach. I believe with his credibility and experience they can create an upset. Yes, in my heart I'm supporting the MyTeam because I HATE the pathetic display by the national team. Hopefully MyTeam can shame them.

Myth behind the explosion

All right, I'm sure most of you all have seen the diet coke and mentos explosion thing. But this one is damn CRAZY. If you watch it you'll see the coke FLYING 50 feet away......
What makes this drink and mentos so explosive? Some say because of chemical reaction, some say physical reaction that play a more important part in the explosion. Ok, this is what I come out with from a forum:
1. The arabic gum in the mentos allows the surface tension of the liquid to be broken more easily.
2. This allow the carbon dioxide trapped in the bubbles to be released very quickly which creates the pressure for the explosive 'fountain'.
3. This effect is enhanced by the fact that, as the candy dissolves, it forms nucleation sites(tiny pits on the surface of the mint where more carbon dioxide bubbles can form).
4. When all this gas is released, it thrusts the entire contents of the bottle skyward.
Once KWEI and I and sealyham tried to do this experiment. We used a normal coke and a pack of mentos. Unfortunately, we FAILED. WHY WHY WHY??

before you vote, what do your vote base on?

Hey all bloggers, how do you rate a blog?
When you vote in Battle of the Blogs(botb), how do you vote?
For me, photoblogs is the favoutites among the blogs, because nice images can easily attract attention. In BOTB, photoblogs usually hold the upper hand against other blogs, and they have a good record in BOTB. Though there are some blogs that managed to catch the attention even without pictures. First impression is very important for all of us, thats why our blog design and post header must be able to catch the attention of others.

this is how I rate a blog(ranked in importance):
1) Contents - usually I looked at the most recent content of the blogs. Normally I will favour the blogs with pictures but if the contents of the other blogs really make me read think or laugh, I will vote for the blog.
2) Effort - obviously I will look at the efforts put in by the bloggers. eg. less short forms.
3) Design - blogs with nice design that me us 'comfortable' and not those that make me feel dizzy.
4) Loading Time - of course if a blog loads too slow anyone will be mazy to look at it.
5) Comments - blogs with more comments mean that more people like that site ...even though I may not know what they are talking about.
6) Starter of a battle - normally the one who accepts a battle held the advantage because he/she can see the strength of his/her opponent.

By the way, have you ever feel that sometimes the better blogs don't win? I guess it's because of cronyism. friends voting for friends. Honestly, I do usually vote for my friends in BOTB unless their opponent are REALLY good. I think it's ok but it's so unfair if we overdo it, such as creating multiple accounts to win the battle. It's so childish to do that because it doesn't worth it and you are cheating yourself. I think the only way is to increse the number of voters.....what do you think?

Peeping at the pool

This is TAR college's Olympic-sized swimming pool, which actually is really BIG. I'm new so I can't get in there yet. However, it's possible to climb over these bricks.
I wonder why they want to arrange the bricks like that. Anyone could climb over it(except for those with big foot), to encourage climbing? Or the college allow us to peep at "baywatch"? lol, don't tell me they wanted to save resources and cost??!!

I got a warning from GOOGLE

Just 3 days ago, I received an e-mail from google, the e-mail said google has detected that I'm using an auto-surf programme to create click fraud, blah blah blah....
And honestly, I did not use such a programme. My page impression is usually above 100, but because I'm started studying in a hostel made me no time to blog. With no new post basically the visitors will be less. And I have no time to battle in BOTB, haha, which of course increse the page views. I wonder joining some blog traffic exchange programmes is actually violating the terms and condition of google.....I don't think so. If yes, I think the whole world is "stealing money" from google.
these are some blog traffic programme I'm using(rank according to my liking):
1) BlogExplosion - This is no doubt the best.
2) Blogmad - this site allows members to vote others blog, and you can earn credits from playing games.
3) Blogazoo - This site is quite fast to load compare to others, with a 20 second timer.
4) Blogclicker - This site has quite alot of members but lack the community spirit. And sometimes you have to wait longer than the 20 seconds timer.
5) Blogadvance - this site has quite little members, and so each day you will only received a few hits, and if you're lucky you may get more than that.

I hope google doesn't frame me again.

Pristine lake

I saw a man fishing beside a lake, I walked towards him. I showed him the " no fishing" sign near him.
"So what?!" he said.
I tried to explain that he can go elsewhere to fish but not here because it's illegal.
"fuck off!!!" he said. Well, I guessed I just walked away from there. Just as I walked off,
"Hey, come back," he added"maybe you are right, could you help me hold this rod for awhile?" I agreed though I don't know what's up. Suddenly, he shouted:"Hey officer, this guy is fishing here!!!" I looked back only to see 2 officers patrolling nearby. I can't believe what just happen. The man kept accusing me. And the 2 officers saw me holding the rod..........At last I watch punished.
I think I'm stupid. Well, we shouldn't care so much about people and do not be busybody.

Once in a bluemoon

Can you figure out what those numbers represents?

haha, actually it's no big deal. Some one figure out this because he thought this only occurs once in a century.

It means
1 hour 2 minutes 3 seconds on the 4th of May 2006

What would you do on this moment? Make a wish? I think I'm gonna sleep. humans are very smart when they keep playing with numbers and always tried to make that moment special eventhough it is still just a second in our life.
having said that, now it left about 13 hours to this 'special' moment in Malaysia(+8GMT)

Realistic/Unrealistic world? $$$$$$$$$$$$$

What guarantees success in our life? Is it your attitude? your brain? Luck? Or all of them?
I guessed it's all of them. Look at Bill Gates, his success doesn't come easy.........and he got brains.

"I came from a poor family, no chance for education"

"I have to work in the field to support my family since I was young, is a tradition"

"My parents died since I was young and I was lucky to earn just enough for living"

Well, I don't think the world is in the right balance now. In Malaysia, that's where I stay, some occupations such as teachers receive LOW salaries, causing the citizens to dislike the jobs. Now, the student teacher ratio in primary and secondary school is about 40:1. The country is lacking some good teachers. Do you think its fair when you work so hard only to earn a little and never get appreciated? Come on, teacher has one of the most important role to play in the world, to nourish children. Why do they paid so low?

For me, everyone has a role to play in our lives, like the garbage collectors, do they work hard? YES. (I refer to those who are unable to get proper education, not those dropouts) I have always a strange thinking, that one day, no one will collect rubbish for us everyday. Will you like to bring your own rubbish to the dumpsite? I's kinda unfair as these guys work so hard under the scorching heats and earn much more little, while those fucking conman who are just using their wits to earn money. These people don't deserve a smelly shit!!!

People think that garbage collectors( and others and even teachers) is like a low status job but actually they are so important. Who wants to be a garbage collector? Even a poor guy would prefer to be a conman, a thief. I'm hoping that these people will earn more in their salary( of course I'm not saying giving them as much money as Bill gates earn), just to bridge the gap between the higher status job.
