The first anniversary of blogging for me

Tomorrow is the 1st birthday of my blog. It's kinda fast as the time just fly pass by. Until now, I have posted 109 posts including this one. I really never thought I would blog this long as I only started blogging for fun.
Tomorrow is really a special day. It's my blog's 1st birthday, lance's 18th birthday, and also my school's 50th anniversary. It should be a nice gathering for us ex-student there in our school.
And holy shit!!! It's the quarter finals stage now in this world cup!!! Too bad Holland went out so early....It seems that this world cup lacks upsets. All the teams in the last 8 are strong, in the expense of the Ukrainians, which actually could post a threat to Italy.
For all of you who noticed that there is a blank white rectangular box just below my header....guess what, my adsense got BANNED!!!! What the fuc*.
things to do now:
1. do assignments
2. watch quarterfinal matches
3. sleep
4. wake up to watch another match
5. go to school's 50th anniversary.
6.watch football again...
7.............

World Cup post

It's kinda weird if I never make a post on this World Cup. Afterall it's the hottest event on the globe now. After 48 matches played, the heat is getting hotter. Today we will be getting into the 2nd round. So fast isn't it?
After the 1st round, we can sketchly know who is the favourite. For me, Argentina looks good enough. Spain were also convincing but they will have France in their way. Brazil looks shaky always, but still strong. Other convincing teams are Italy and Switzeland. And of course, the Germans, playing well in front of home crowd. I personally supporting Holland but so far they have not been convincing but I'm looking forward to their battle with Portugal, a rematch of euro2004 semis. Though 3 matches played, teams may be trying to conceal their true ability. So keep your finger crossed.
To those who have been knockout, I really feel sorry for the Czechs but they did not produce the flair they used to have. I guess that is the only favourite team that got knockout. The final 16 is generally quite predictable. I'm too happy with the lost of the Koreans, because I really hate them for their FAKE performance last edition.
until now, I still fail to recover my earlier losses in my betting, haha, but I know my luck will grow better now.

The matches

Germany v Sweden: I think the germans shud sneak in eventhough the swedes are strong.
Argentina v Mexico : If the Argentines produce the performance during the S & M game, no problem
England v Ecuador : Ecuador can't stand the pace.
Portugal v Netherlands : huge match.
Italy v Australia : Guus hiddink can't be so lucky.
Switzerland v Ukraine
Brazil v Ghana
Spain v France : Looking forward to this

How I started blogging....

Well, I suppose to blog about this on the weblogger's day. But I was just too busy in college(sigh). Anyway I'm posting it anyway.
I must thanks my friend Kwei for bringing me into this blogging world...haha....I didn't know what is a blog until he opened one. Once I thought blogging is such a stupid thing to do, because who the hell are interested in what you write?
Until one day I became really bored and I opened a new account in blogspot. From then on, I started to blog. Not many people may be visiting my blog but at least my friends do. I'm interested in those pictures that other bloggers post. Later I joined blog traffic sites like BlogExplosion. It really inspired me to continue blogging. BOTB helps me to gauge my blog if it's good.
Now I read other's blog too. And some people read mine as well so I really appreciate it.
For me, blogging is really to good way to opines, or to let release your anger........or whatever. Most importantly, it can help you to earn $$$$$$.....hahaha.....
So let us all continue to spread the power of blogs.
*CHEERS*

By the way, I kept losing in my bet in the World Cup...What the heck......

Going Dutch

Woohoo!!! World Cup 2006 in Germany is just 13 hours away at the moment I'm writing this. It's time to celebrate again. No matter how much money I win or lose throught betting......haha. At least this only comes once in 4 years.
So this year I'm supporting Holland, the pioneers of the Total Football. They came close everytime and I think they deserve to win. And under the guidance of legend Van Basten I think they will eventually prevail. They have enough talent in their team and they play good football....erm....at least when they are in top form.
People saying the Dutch is a beautiful place.....sure.....and it's so special because it is located under the sea level......

If I'm the Prime Minister of this country....

I'm inspired to write this after reading my friend's post. Heck, you should go and have a look. People arguing about racism. It certainly attracted alot of visitors to his site.

click here to read his post!!!

So I'm a Malaysian. But if a chinese becomes a Prime Minister(PM) it is so unimaginable. Because malays are trying to protect their race. The government's policy is so questionable, which actually 'encourage' racism. Actually, if a chinese PM is elected I don't see anything threatening the Malays, afterall they are still the majority.
If I'm the PM, I will:
1. Change the education system, which means fair competition for all students for a chance to go to local universities. Choosing of the scholarships recipients will be made transparent so recipients will be chosen fairly and squarely
2. Abolish the New Economic Policy(NEP) which fail to achieve what it intended to do. This actually will make people work much harder and improve the economy and licing standard.
3. Set Chinese and Indian and Malay as national languages. however, road names and national anthem will remain in malay.
4. Abolish the special rights of malay. Encourage the well-educated to help the poor.
5. Encourage each race to learn other's languages especially in school.
6. Arrest those involved in corruption no matter what race he is.
I think that is FAIR enough.
IF a chinese become a PM and lead a country, and if he tend to discriminate other races, especially majority, the majority will revolt and no one wants that to happen. So a chinese PM must consider the feelings of the majority race. And so the non-malay community won't be oppressed by the racism. I'm not asking them to let a chinese lead the country but at least the government's policy must change. Now, some may feel they are 2nd class citizens.
There is no freedom of speech here because it is considered sensitive issue and you may be ended up in jail. Furthermore, minority races can't do much because they are MINORITY.......
(I want to stressed that I'm not promoting racism.)
I hope I don't get caught by Internal Security Act(ISA) for posting this........haha...
thanks for reading, to those who hate or love me

Art of Vandalism

This is the "eyeless" car, actually that's not the eye, at least in the movie "CARS". People steal anything they like now. even number plates.

Great art again...lesson : Learn to make use of the lamp post by putting up advertisment.

Steam-ed vehicle

(click for clearer view)
You-Han and I passed by this motorbike and You-Han took this picture. At that time there was a man asking if this bike is ours. Haha, of course not. According to him, a bunch of teenagers burned this bike for fun. These guys always wandered around near our hostel. Feel sad for this bike man...and it's owner. Do we call these guys free-spirit or what.....

The plight of the Malaysian Education

If you ask 10 Malaysian students about the education system here, 8 of them with say "I want to study somewhere else", the remaining 2 MUST be the dropouts.

For last year primary school students, they have to sit for a government exam, namely UPSR. Imagine a child age 12 need to cope with all this pressure. Some of us students don't give it a shit. But for those students whose parents wanting too much from them, I'm sorry because their childhood have been ruin. I admit I didn't play enough during my childhood and there is no turning back.

The system is too exam-minded which prioritise on theory and not practical. Students forced to attend tuition is a common sight. What we learn is to memorize and how to score in exam. But we do not know how to apply.

Furthermore the syllabus suck a lot, the only way to score an A is to memorize. We learned morale education, where we just memorise the values, in the end crime still happen among teenagers. For history, it seems that HALF of the topic is about Muslim. I'm not a muslim but I've to learn the facts as if I'm a muslim. We never learn world history, if yes its little. Besides that they tried to influence us to think that our colonies are bad and communist are also bad. The way they write shows too much bias. Some even change the facts. Of course, history is always full of bias. Students think that they are trying to 'brainwash' us.

Not only students, teachers' workload is as tall as Mount Everest. This is because the education ministry assigning so much useless things for them to do. It's so tough being a government school teacher that the workforce is so little. Most of them will choose to teach in a private school.

There are also some bias in the enrolment into public universities. Pre-U such as local matriculation opens to 90% malays and 10% to non-malays. And it is the main road of enrolling in public universities. Which guarantees malays in public universities. I'm disappointed that they are being feed like that. This make them becoming more lazy because they are assured a place in the universities(no racism here). This left little place left for the rest. Many opt for overseas education, and in the end MOST of them NEVER come back here.

Also, the results in public examinations are always improving. Now, loads of students getting loads of As. Of course not the student is great, but the ministry set the standard so LOW, so that the number of students getting straight As increase year by year to make seem that Malaysian students are bright. But overseas institute are not so dumb. Many struggled after getting loads of As. They know that our standard is so damn low that they don't give a damn shit even if you score a straight As, until.......you prove to them that you are genuinely GREAT.
I believe it's time for a change.

How much money can we earn?

I really wanted to work hard for only 10 years(give that 15), so that I can earn enough money to enjoy for the rest of my life. But can I do that? Unfortuantely NOT. It is possible if you are living on your own, but there are some other factors that must be taken into account, especially in Malaysia.
Let's say our average annual income is $60000 , and I work for 30 years.....which means I earn $1.8 million. It may seem much......but there are other things we need to look as well.
First, for those who are going to married will need to buy a house, which cost about $300000 for an average house.
secondly, we need a car which cost about $40000 average and normally that is a local car so you must be prepared to fork out money to send it to the garage frequently. If you are lucky, your company may help you on your transportation BUT it is RARE.
Ok, so if we have a monthly expenses of $2000 for basic neccessities, which means we will use up $720000. Up to now, we are just left with $740000.
In Malaysia, there are whole loads of bill and taxes we need to pay....so another $100000 gone. That is the expenses only for 1 or 2 person. So if your wife do not work it will be much more burden for you. If you are planning to have a few children our money will become $0. Let's say our children is not smart(we can't expect everything to go in our way right?). Hence there is no scholarships. To give them a good education $$$ is needed. The education cost is so high now that what we earn may not compensate back how much we pay for education. Plus the high inflation rate in this country, $60000 annually is NOT enough, well , at least we can't enjoy life....What is there left?

There's a site calculating how much we can save a lifetime. maybe you'll like it.

see how much you can save!!!
